Bridge of Hope Lincoln County is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and confident Overnight Resident & Resource Support Specialist to help maintain a safe, peaceful, and structured environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

About Bridge of Hope
Bridge of Hope Lincoln County provides more than emergency shelter. We help individuals and families experiencing homelessness move from crisis toward long term stability through shelter, case management, employment support, financial literacy, housing navigation, and connections to community resources.
Our overnight team plays an important role in making sure residents have a safe, respectful, and stable environment while continuing to follow the expectations of our program.
What You’ll Do
As an Overnight Resident & Resource Support Specialist, you will:
- Monitor the shelter and common areas throughout the night to maintain safety and security.
- Complete routine facility and perimeter checks.
- Provide compassionate assistance to residents who need support during overnight hours.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while treating every resident with dignity and respect.
- Reinforce shelter expectations, rules, and curfew requirements fairly and consistently.
- Respond calmly to conflict, behavioral concerns, medical situations, and other emergencies according to established procedures.
- Contact supervisors or emergency services when situations require additional support.
- Document overnight activities, incidents, resident concerns, and other important information accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and organizational information.
- Complete housekeeping duties including laundry, dishes, cleaning common spaces, and preparing the shelter for the next day.
- Assist with approved medication procedures as assigned and trained.
- Communicate clearly with incoming morning staff to ensure continuity between shifts.
- Complete other shelter related duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is caring but also confident enough to maintain structure and expectations.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Able to remain awake, alert, and engaged throughout the entire overnight shift.
- Compassionate and respectful when working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.
- Comfortable setting boundaries and enforcing policies even when conversations may be difficult.
- Able to remain calm and make sound decisions during stressful or unexpected situations.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Able to work independently with limited overnight supervision.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Able to work collaboratively with other staff and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Comfortable using basic computer programs and electronic documentation systems.
Preferred but not required: Experience in homeless services, behavioral health, social services, residential care, security, crisis response, healthcare, corrections, or another related setting.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to reporting for all scheduled shifts. Because this is an overnight shelter position, reliable attendance is essential to maintaining safe staffing and continuous coverage.
- Must be able to remain awake, alert, and attentive for the entire 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift, including during periods when the shelter is quiet.
- Must be able to work independently and respond appropriately if an emergency, resident concern, or unexpected situation occurs overnight.
- CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to complete required Bridge of Hope training, including confidentiality, emergency procedures, medication procedures, de escalation, and trauma informed care.
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods and lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Availability for assigned weekends and holidays.
