Summary: Greet and assist patients and visitors; check-in patients for scheduled appointments; provides exceptional service to our patients and visitors; compile, verify and input data into practice management system to register patients; collect co-pays and patient balances daily by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Reports to work as scheduled each day.
2. Acts in a manner that is indicative of team spirit and cooperation.
3. Works cooperatively as a team member and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Southern California Orthopedic Institute Medical Group.
4. Complies with SCOI Policy and Procedure.
5. Upholds the goal of patient satisfaction and high service.
6. Greets and assists patients and visitors; maintains patient sign in sheet and appointment list; continually monitors and ensures that all patients are checked in and accounted for.
7. Prepares necessary paperwork for each day’s schedule in advance of appointments.
8. Provides necessary paperwork to patient upon check-in. Reviews completed forms for accuracy and signature.
9. Compiles patient demographics, insurance information; scans identification and insurance card into system.
10. Verifies and accurately registers patient demographic and insurance information into patients account; verifies and inputs any accompanying referrals and authorizations received from patient into appropriate case.
11. Collects patient balances and co-pays as needed at time of service; enter payments for the corresponding ticket into the Billing module.
12. Reconciles all payments received using Daily Balance and Deposit Slip reports at the end of the day.
13. Deposits all payments received daily according to Deposit Policy & Procedure.
14. Processes all no shows and cancellations through the electronic fee ticket system.
15. Indexes scanned medical records into EHR daily.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical administrative support and office environments
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Previous experience in a medical office setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage patient interactions and coordinate services effectively
- Proficient in handling patient records and scheduling appointments
Compensation Disclaimer:
In accordance with California pay transparency guidelines, the posted salary range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant industry experience in healthcare and leadership experience, education, and overall qualifications.
