Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Handle cash transactions confidently, including cash handling, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end
- Maintain store merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about new or featured items
- Upsell relevant products to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Follow proper phone etiquette when taking inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a broader customer base effectively
- Experience withVerifone POS systems and familiarity with grocery store operations is advantageous
- Demonstrated supervising experience in retail or customer service roles is beneficial for leadership opportunities
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
