Primary Responsibilities
Service & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, airflow, refrigeration (when applicable), and control system issues.
- Perform repairs according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Verify proper equipment operation after all repairs.
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections.
- Inspect and service motors, belts, bearings, filters, electrical components, controls, and safety devices.
- Identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure.
Installation & Start-Up
- Install replacement equipment and components.
- Perform equipment start-up, operational testing, and system commissioning.
- Verify proper airflow, motor operation, controls, and safety interlocks.
Documentation
- Complete accurate service reports in Housecall Pro.
- Record diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, equipment readings, and customer recommendations.
- Maintain complete job documentation, including photos when required.
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with customers.
- Explain equipment issues and recommended repairs clearly.
- Maintain a clean work area and represent Hood Depot Service professionally at all times.
Safety
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Use required PPE and maintain safe work practices on every job.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Commercial HVAC or commercial kitchen ventilation experience preferred.
- EPA Certification and OSHA training are a plus.
Skills & Knowledge
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Commercial kitchen ventilation systems
- HVAC controls and motor controls
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with mobile devices and Housecall Pro
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Work on rooftops, ladders, and lifts.
- Work in commercial kitchen environments and varying weather conditions.
- Stand, climb, kneel, and crawl for extended periods.

- Deliver quality workmanship with minimal callbacks.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers and the office.
- Maintain a professional appearance and company vehicle.
- Work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Hood Depot Service standards.
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
