Summary of Responsibilities:
The Pastry Kitchen Assistant will support our busy pastry production team. This is a hands-on, physically active role focused on the foundational work required to keep our kitchen running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone with basic kitchen experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

Complete prep work assigned by Pastry Chef and the Assistant Pastry Chef.

Assist with bulk scaling of dry ingredients, baking of cookies, and prepping raw materials for the baking team.

Wash large mixing bowls, utensils, and machinery as needed; maintain a spotless and sanitized workstation.

Sweep, mop, take out heavy trash and recycle, and ensure the kitchen meets health and safety standards.

Organize storage areas, and rotate stock using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methods.

Maintain professional appearance and proper cleanliness standards.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Education/Experience:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must have a reliable form of transportation

Some basic kitchen experience is required (e.g., dishwashing, general labor, material handling, or food prep).

Ability to follow instructions carefully, work quickly, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

Reliability to work 25–30 hours per week, including [e.g., early mornings, weekends, or specific days].

Punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work well as part of a fast-moving team.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for full shifts, bend, reach, and safely lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs.] repeatedly.

Utilization of both hands and arms

Constant walking and moving, frequently bend, stoop, climb, squat and lift
