Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding the perfect cake decorating supplies and ingredients
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately
- Conduct product demos to showcase new or popular items, encouraging customer engagement and upselling opportunities
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts to enhance store visual appeal
- Manage inventory levels by stocking shelves, organizing products, and conducting regular stock checks
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Support supervising staff with daily store operations, including cash handling, retail math calculations, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience
Qualifications
- Prior experience with POS systems and cash handling in a retail environment is preferred
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate customers through product demos and clear explanations
- Knowledge of grocery store or specialty retail sales is advantageous
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory management
- Previous experience in retail sales transactions, merchandising, stocking, or cashiering is desirable
- A friendly attitude combined with excellent phone etiquette ensures positive interactions with customers and team members
