As an essential part of our café or retail operation, you'll be responsible for preparing the store for the day ahead, handling transactions efficiently, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders, ensuring a positive experience from the first interaction
- Operate POS to take orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages, food items, and snacks while maintaining food safety standards
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cashiering duties with precision using POS systems
- Manage food handling and preparation tasks, including basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and dining spaces to ensure a safe environment
- Manage time effectively to complete opening procedures promptly while balancing customer service needs
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems like Micros POS is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Previous barista or coffee experience is a plus, demonstrating knowledge of coffee preparation techniques
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy mornings
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures in a café or food service setting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of service
