Position: Food Service Department AssistantReports to: Director of Nutrition and Food ServicePosition Description: The Food Service Department Assistant is responsible for assisting in the management of administrative duties for the Nutrition & Food Service Department OfficeMajor Responsibilities: Managing and processing Food Service Department invoicesEmail correspondence with parents regarding simple administrative questions as it pertains to, but not limited to: - Student lunch ID numbers - Student lunch account balances - Standardized allergy policy questionsGenerating financial reports using the Districts POS System MosaicGenerating Monthly Meal Claims Reports using the Districts POS System MosaicAssisting in cash handling including counting cash from the Districts school cafeteria and reconciling with Mosaic ReportsProviding onsite cooking and preparation support for school cafeteria staff in the absence of a staff memberAssist the Director of Nutrition & Food Service during department staff continuing education seminarsEducation: High School or equivalency diploma, Serve Safe CertificationSkills and Knowledge Required: Basic computer/cash registerAbility to be flexible and handle a variety of tasksAbility to supervise staffAbility to read recipes and directions for quantity and follow directionsKnowledge of all kitchen equipment how it works and comes apart for cleaning
