Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process customer purchases quickly and accurately
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and confidence
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly and addressing their questions or concerns
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new items during checkout
- Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing products to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Conduct product demos when applicable to enhance customer engagement and sales
- Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or reservations
- Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and maintain accurate cash register records
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cashiering operations
- Previous supervising experience in retail or customer service settings is a plus
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs
- Experience with grocery store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and product demos
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, upselling strategies, and customer service best practices
