Job Title: Laser Operator - Nights

Manager Title Second Shift Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION WITH THE HOURS SUNDAY 4:30PM - 3AM - WEDNESDAY 4:30PM - 3AM. WE HAVE A 10% SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL FOR SECOND SHIFT.

Job Summary:

Responsible for running and maintaining the laser equipment. Works closely with the Laser Programmer in order to fulfill the orders of cutting parts. Maintains the laser equipment to ensure timely and consistent production of quality cut parts.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Checks and cleans lenses at the beginning of every shift using acetone and lens wipes.
Changes laser gas mixture once it has reached 24 hours.
Highest priority is to keep the laser cutting throughout your shift:
- Makes nozzle changes.
- Conducts height calibrations.
- Centers Nozzle.
- Cleans Window.
- Clears alarms.
- Loads and unloads as needed.
- Performs regular and general maintenance.
- Follows operational standards and trouble shooting guide.

Unloads and puts away steel from the steel truck.
Cleans out drawers on both sides of the Laser every other day and distributes parts to proper location.
Assists with part break out when not running laser.
Unloads skeleton cart and dumps steel dumpster.
Collects steel order and laser parts quantities at the end of each week.
Wipes down laser, windows, tracks and sweeps surroundings during the last 45 minutes of the week.
Helps fill in with various forklift duties; loads and unloads trucks when the material handler is not present.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to work and achieve goals with minimum supervision.
Self-starter, motivated and works well in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent
2-3 years minimum Laser Operator experience.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work standing for up to 10 hours per day.
