Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following strict protocols and safety standards.
- Manage complex cases such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and patients with developmental disabilities.
- Coordinate discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care to ensure seamless transitions across care settings.
- Utilize critical care skills in acute pain management, trauma response (Level I & II trauma center experience), and emergency triage to stabilize patients promptly.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection/processing and assist with medical imaging procedures when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and adhere to all documentation standards for medical records and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support patients in various environments such as long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals (including ICU and emergency rooms), outpatient clinics, and home & community care settings.
- Demonstrate proficiency in ICD-9/10 coding for accurate medical documentation and billing processes.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, caregivers, and family members to optimize patient outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), and individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs.
- Demonstrated expertise in specialized areas such as ICU nursing, emergency medicine, hospice care, infectious disease management, or medical-surgical units.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate charting and documentation.
- Strong background in medication administration techniques including venipuncture, catheterization (including Foley catheters), tube feeding management, and sterile procedures.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and best practices for skilled nursing facilities or assisted living environments.
- Familiarity with advanced nursing procedures such as airway management, ventilator support, spinal taps, suturing, dialysis support or cardiac catheterization is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings such as hospital emergency rooms or trauma centers while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for caregiver interaction and patient education; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is highly valued.

Pay: $27.37 - $32.96 per hour
