Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely for our private, AAA, and CHP dispatch accounts.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition before towing or repair.
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure handling.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or adjustments when necessary to facilitate towing or vehicle recovery.
- Manage conflict situations professionally with customers or other road users, maintaining a calm and solution-focused approach.
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and service details for record-keeping purposes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all operations, prioritizing safe driving practices and proper equipment use.
Skills
- Proven, hands-on experience as a tow truck driver is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Proficiency in operating tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair processes and manual transmission vehicles.
- Excellent customer service skills to handle interactions professionally and courteously, especially during high-stress dispatch scenarios.
- Ability to load and unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to strict safety standards.
- Conflict management skills to resolve issues calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
