Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, minimizing downtime and supporting our operational goals. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and forklifts using schematics, OEM manuals, and electrical diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving powertrains, HVAC systems, alignment problems, tire service, and heavy lifting operations.
- Maintain accurate service records detailing repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostics conducted to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements.
- Assist in the assembly of new equipment or replacement parts following manufacturer specifications.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly to clients or team members and ensuring timely completion of work orders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with a strong background in construction machinery maintenance.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with OEM parts and schematics is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, brake repair, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic software for automotive or industrial applications.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions.
- Certification or training in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for equipment repair and maintenance.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
