Job Summary:
The Youth Care Specialist is responsible for providing direct care and supervision to children and adolescents in a supportive, safe, and structured environment. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who can effectively engage with youth, promote their well-being, and assist in their development. The Youth Care Specialist will utilize skills in behavior management and patient care to create a safe and nurturing environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Positive and Supportive Environment: Foster a supportive environment that encourages youth engagement and participation in activities. Provide direct care and support to youth, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Supervision and Safety: Ensure the safety and security of all youth under care by maintaining a structured and positive environment. Monitor vital signs and assist with basic medical needs as required.
- Behavior Management: Provide guidance and implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and outcomes.
- Emotional Support: Offer emotional support to youth, listen to concerns, provide encouragement, and foster healthy communication.
- Mentorship and Skill Development: Support youth in developing key life skills, such as communication, decision-making, and problem-solving.
- Case Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of youth activities, behavior, and progress in compliance with organizational policies.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with families, educators, , social workers, therapists, other staff members and management to provide comprehensive care and develop individualized care plans.
- Individual and Group Activities: Execute recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities to engage youth and promote their growth and development.
- Crisis Management: Be prepared to handle emergency situations or crises and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
