Position Summary
Facility is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist – Radiographer to perform high-quality general radiographic examinations in an acute-care hospital setting. The Radiographer will operate radiology equipment safely, obtain diagnostic-quality images, provide compassionate patient care, and work collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently while following department procedures.
- Verify patient identity, examination orders, and relevant clinical information before procedures.
- Explain examinations and positioning requirements to patients and provide appropriate assistance throughout the procedure.
- Apply radiation safety principles and ALARA practices to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Select appropriate technical factors and imaging protocols based on the patient's condition and examination requirements.
- Evaluate images for positioning, exposure, and diagnostic quality and repeat images when clinically necessary.
- Maintain patient safety, privacy, comfort, and dignity during examinations.
- Follow infection-control, universal precautions, and hospital safety standards.
- Properly document examinations and maintain accurate patient records.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Identify and report equipment issues or concerns according to department procedures.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, departmental, and professional standards.
- Utilize electronic medical record and radiology systems as required, including EPIC following facility training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of General Radiographer experience preferred/required for this assignment.
- Acute-care hospital experience required.
- Completion of an appropriate Radiologic Technology training program, including qualifying military training where applicable.
- Current ARRT certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Valid New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Radiologic Technologist license.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong knowledge of general radiography, patient positioning, radiation safety, and image quality.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care environment.

Schedule
- Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Hours: 37.5 hours/week
- Schedule: 5 days per week
- Weekends: Alternating weekends required
- Holidays: Required
- Training: Approximately 2 weeks, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, including an EPIC class

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an ARRT-registered and NYSDOH-licensed Radiologic Technologist with at least 2 years of general radiography experience in an acute-care setting, strong patient-care skills, and the ability to work evening shifts, alternating weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $65.00 - $72.00 per hour
