Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
- Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Measure materials with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and fits.
- Fabricate metal components from materials using power tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, and hand tools.
- Assemble fabricated parts using rigging, welding, and mechanical fasteners while adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate machinery including forklifts and machining tools safely within a fabrication shop environment.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately to ensure proper assembly according to ASME codes & standards and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures to prevent accidents on construction sites or within the shop.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects involving structural steel, or equipment assembly.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction sites or manufacturing environments involving metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG and TIG welding.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Knowledge of mechanical blueprint interpretation along with shop math skills for precise measurements.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
- Ability to operate power tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and saws safely and efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes including rigging, machining, and assembly.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication—including cutting, bending, forming.
- Ability to interpret schematics related to manufacturing or construction projects accurately.
- Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols on construction sites or within manufacturing facilities.
- Basic math skills are necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
