Job Summary
- Join our dynamic team as an experienced CDL-A 18 Wheeler Driver specializing in manual transmission! This role offers the opportunity to operate tractor-trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes, delivering freight efficiently and safely while adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. You will be responsible for transporting refrigerated, hazardous, or general freight using various trailer types such as flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated units. We prioritize safety, professionalism, and timely deliveries, ensuring you are supported with weekly pay and a rewarding driving experience.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across long-distance routes, including OTR driving routes.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Transport different types of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, or automobile transportation cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records following federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered on the road.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions.
- Demonstrated ability to handle refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized freight equipment.
- Familiarity with route driving for over-the-road (OTR) deliveries and local deliveries involving truck loading and unloading.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT safety standards, and hazardous goods handling procedures.
- Previous experience with delivery driving in logistics environments involving freight management and cargo handling.
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record; experience in hazardous materials (Hazmat) endorsement is a plus.
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely while managing heavy or bulky loads.
