We have an opportunity available for a certified welder (FCAW welding process). Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Pre-employment and random drug testing is required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As a welder, you are responsible for overseeing daily operations of your assigned jobs to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Boise Crane’s policies and applicable laws. Duties include but are not limited to:
· Welds
· Spreads, attaches and lifts braces and assists with panel placement on concrete precast and concrete tilt-up projects
· Signals cranes and equipment
· Performs duties as a rigger
· Grouts precast
· Peforms steel erection duties
· Performs job cleanup
· Fabricates
· Picks up supplies and parts
· Drives pilot car
· Assists with crane mobilization; including assmbling and disassembling cranes, loading trucks, and tying down loads
· Performs yard and shop clean up
· Keeps company vehicles clean and free of trash
· Addresses complaints and conflicts with their supervisor
· Promotes a positive, team focused work environment and company culture; maintaining a professional attitude in the workplace
· Efficiently communicates any delays or emergencies at the jobsite to their supervisor
· Performs maintenance on welders, PPE, rigging, tools and other equipment
· Addresses complaints and conflicts with their supervisor
· Completes required training
· Completes daily inspection of mobile equipment and submits to office
· Complies with all applicable federal and state laws, company guidelines and best practices
· Wears PPE safety equipment and clothing
· Works the schedule required by Boise Crane’s clients or Boise Crane’ s crews
· Travels as needed
· Maintains certifications
· Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities/Certification:
· Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
· Welding certifications
· Ablility to safely and effectively operate any tools and equipment to complete work; such as welders, grinders, lasers, drills, saws, forklifts or aerial lifts and ensure proper storage and care of tools and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to twist, bend and kneel
- Visual acuity to drive a vehicle, operate a forklift or aerial lift, relay hand signals, maintain logs, inspect and maintain machinery and to be aware of hazards present on jobsites
- Must be able to grip and use hand tools and welders
- May work in a variety of weather including extreme heat or cold
- May work long shifts at various times, including nights or weekends
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods
