Liberty Home and Community Care is looking for a motivated, organized, and people-focused Home Care Recruiter & Staffing Coordinator to join our team in New Britain, CT.
This position plays an important role in helping Liberty build and maintain a strong caregiver workforce. You will work closely with our care coordinators to understand current staffing needs, recruit and screen qualified candidates, coordinate the hiring process, and lead new-hire onboarding and orientation.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, recruiting, building relationships, and taking initiative. Home care or healthcare recruiting experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who has strong communication, organizational, and follow-through skills.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Review and respond to applications for caregiver positions
- Conduct initial phone screens and candidate interviews
- Identify qualified candidates and move them through the hiring process
- Maintain an active pipeline of caregiver candidates
- Work directly with care coordinators to identify specific staffing needs and develop targeted recruitment efforts
- Recruit for specific shifts, locations, programs, and client needs
- Communicate with applicants throughout the recruitment process
- Participate in job fairs, career fairs, community events, and other recruitment activities
- Develop relationships with local schools, workforce programs, and community organizations to expand our caregiver recruitment pipeline
Hiring & Onboarding
- Coordinate the hiring process from application through start date
- Schedule interviews and follow up with candidates
- Coordinate background checks and required employment documentation
- Schedule and conduct new employee orientation
- Assist new employees with completing required onboarding and training
- Ensure new hires are prepared and informed before beginning work
Staffing Support
- Work closely with coordinators to understand open staffing needs
- Identify recruitment priorities based on current vacancies and client needs
- Communicate recruitment activity and hiring progress with the management team
- Help maintain accurate records of applicants, candidates, and new hires
Front Office Support
- Answer Liberty's main office telephone and direct calls to the appropriate department
- Greet applicants, employees, clients, and visitors
- Serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for the office
- Provide general administrative support as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, healthcare, home care, human resources, or a related field preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable speaking with candidates by phone and in person
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Proficient with computers, email, Microsoft Office, and/or Google Workspace
- Previous caregiver or healthcare recruitment experience is a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience
