Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and active learning tailored to the developmental needs of preschool children.
- Manage daily classroom activities with effective behavior management strategies to foster positive social interactions and emotional well-being.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of child development using standardized testing tools and observational techniques to track progress and inform instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's growth, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring transparency and collaborative support.
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and implementing inclusive practices for children with special needs or early intervention requirements.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is essential; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across multiple domains including literacy education, math, physical education, and childhood development instruction.
- Knowledge of special education principles, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques to support diverse learners.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners to foster a collaborative educational environment.
- Classroom experience utilizing Montessori methods or other child-centered educational philosophies is preferred.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is highly encouraged.
- Strong understanding of mandated reporting laws, child welfare practices, and classroom management best practices ensures a safe learning space for all children.
