Premier Health Associates multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgical Center, located in Northern NJ (Sussex County) is seeking an experienced and dedicated part time Sterile Processing Technician. The facility currently performs GI, General Surgery and Pain procedures and is open Monday – Saturday
7 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Job Description
The Certified Sterile Processing Technician will perform all tasks associated with the processing of surgical instruments and medical devices including cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization/high level disinfection, monitoring of environmental conditions, sterilization processes, and HLD processes. Qualified candidates must possess excellent customer service skills, initiative, and ability to take independent action and be capable of establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Responsible for the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments and supplies according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
· Washing, inspecting, packaging and sterilizing instruments/equipment.
· Perform safety checks to verify proper equipment functionality, as well as general maintenance of equipment.
· Maintains legible and accurate monitoring records
· Using and interpreting chemical and biological indicators
· Follows established policies and procedures
· Accurately handles and cares for instruments appropriately, including appropriate selection of cleaning agents and lubricants.
· Correctly peel-packs supplies/instruments, wraps instruments for sterilization, inspects each instrument for use, function, completeness, and cleanliness.
· Assists OR staff with cleaning and setup.
· Handles and dispose of infectious waste appropriately.
· Adheres to Standard Precautions as appropriate, e.g., the use of protective barriers, gloves, masks, gowns, and/or safety glasses.
· Participate in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
· Completion of a Sterile Processing program required (CBSPD/CSPDT certification)
· BLS
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a multispecialty ASC or hospital environment with working knowledge and proficiency in the use of Steris and Olympus equipment.
· Strong knowledge base of AAMI standards
· Dual certification to include Endoscope CFER, a plus

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
