Aesthetic Medical Assistant
Allenby Cosmetic Dermatology is seeking a passionate, patient-focused Aesthetic Medical Assistant to join our growing team. As an integral member of our clinical team, you will work alongside our physician and advanced practice providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners) during cosmetic procedures while ensuring every patient feels informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their aesthetic journey. Responsibilities
- Assist the physician and advanced practice providers during a wide range of cosmetic procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, supplies, and patient documentation before each procedure.
- Anticipate provider needs during treatments to ensure seamless, efficient patient care and workflow.
- Provide compassionate, attentive patient care before, during, and after treatments to ensure a luxury, concierge-level experience.
- Educate patients on treatment expectations, pre- and post-care instructions, skincare regimens, and physician-recommended treatment plans.
- Build trusting relationships with patients through warmth, professionalism, empathy, and exceptional communication.
- Deliver an elevated patient experience by anticipating patient needs and ensuring comfort throughout every visit.
- Perform aesthetic treatments and procedures, as permitted by licensure, training, competency, and practice protocols, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Assist with photography, documentation, treatment charting, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records.
- Promote physician-recommended skincare products, maintenance treatments, and aesthetic services using a consultative, education-focused approach.
- Support treatment consultations by answering patient questions, reinforcing provider recommendations, and helping patients feel confident in their treatment decisions.
- Maintain treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels, restock clinical supplies, and assist with equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, patient coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and an exceptional overall experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, medical spa, or aesthetic practice preferred.
- Passion for aesthetics, skincare, wellness, and helping patients achieve their goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to create lasting patient relationships.
- Strong communication skills with confidence discussing cosmetic procedures, skincare products, and treatment plans.
- Comfortable supporting consultative sales conversations and reinforcing provider recommendations to improve patient outcomes.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and attentive while assisting physicians and advanced practice providers during advanced cosmetic procedures.
- Desire to continuously expand clinical knowledge and aesthetic skills through ongoing education and hands-on training.
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required, depending on experience and state requirements.
