Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Entry-Level CAD Draftsman to join our Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals beginning their CAD drafting career. You will work alongside experienced engineers to create and modify mechanical drawings for packaging equipment while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard CAD software.
Responsibilities
- Create and update mechanical assembly and part drawings using CAD software.
- Convert existing paper drawings into electronic CAD files.
- Assist with designing components for packaging equipment.
- Create engineering sketches and layout drawings.
- Support reverse engineering projects using precision measuring tools.
- Operate plotters, printers, and document scanners.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Quality departments.
- Communicate professionally with customers and vendors when needed.
- Assist with special engineering projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certificate, or coursework in CAD Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (Inventor experience is a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with mechanical measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Understanding of mechanical drafting standards (ASME standards preferred).
- Exposure to CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement mentality.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
