Position Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production plans that balance customer demand, machine capacity, labor resources, and material availability. This role works closely with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Scheduling to ensure work flows efficiently through the operation while supporting on-time delivery and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
· Review incoming customer orders and production requirements
· Develop production plans based on capacity, material availability, and customer commitments
· Balance workloads across departments and work centers
· Monitor backlog, capacity, and resource utilization
· Identify bottlenecks and potential scheduling conflicts
· Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure material availability
· Support lead-time management and customer delivery expectations
· Analyze production data and recommend process improvements
· Maintain planning accuracy and operational visibility
· Support continuous improvement and capacity planning initiatives
Qualifications
· Manufacturing, production planning, or operations experience preferred
· Strong analytical and organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred
· Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
