Joyous Town Preschool is a well-established preschool that is expanding to its second location in Shoreline this spring and are looking to hire a Preschool/Pre-K Lead Teacher to begin in early May. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality, holistic approach that integrates Montessori, STEAM, and academic curricula, alongside biblical values.
We are looking for a qualified, dependable, and passionate teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans that incorporate both Montessori and STEAM approach, while providing a safe and nurturing environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Our program follows a structured, academically focused approach, and we are seeking an individual who is patient, creative, and dedicated to helping our students reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans by using Montessori and STEAM curriculum approach.
- Models behavior: works cooperatively with others, acknowledges and respects others; feelings; builds and strengthens positive relationships with other staff and volunteers.
- Set up and maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Plans and coordinate the work of the teacher assisntant, parents, and classroom volunteers in daily activities and/or special events
- Conducts parent conferences and meetings
- Provides opportunities for the preschool assistant to give input and feedback
- Communicate with parents effectively and professionally on a weekly and as-needed basis
- Supervise and interact with children in a positive manner.
- Use positive guidance methods that strengthen each child's problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Observe, assess and assist in the development of social skills, motor skills, and language skills of the students
- Maintain records of children's attendance, activities, and development.
- Attend preschool events outside regular school hours
Required Qualifications:
- One year of child care teaching experience
- Familiar with state's safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Working knowledge of child development ages 12 months to 5 years
- Proven initiative and accountability
- Short Certification in ECE (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
