Pool Mechanic
Full-Time Hamptons, NY Starting at $30/hr, commensurate with experience
POSITION SUMMARY
Atlantic Waters is seeking an experienced, detail-driven Pool Mechanic to service and maintain the swimming pools and spa systems of high-end estates across the Hamptons. In this role you will diagnose, repair, and optimize sophisticated equipment—automation systems, variable-speed pumps, heaters, filtration, and water features—while delivering the discreet, white-glove service our clientele expects. This is a lead-level position: you will often be the senior technician on site, guiding crew members and owning the quality of the work performed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Equipment service: diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, and automation controls.
- Maintenance: perform seasonal openings and closings, water balancing, and preventive maintenance on complex, multi-feature pool systems.
- Systems & automation: commission and program automation systems (e.g., Pentair, Jandy, Hayward) and integrate new equipment during upgrades.
- Team leadership: serve as the on-site lead, coordinating and mentoring junior technicians, verifying workmanship, and keeping jobs on schedule.
- Documentation: log all service, diagnostics, parts, and time accurately in ServiceTitan; keep job records and client notes current.
- Client experience: maintain a professional, respectful presence on private estates and communicate clearly with property managers and homeowners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: minimum of 3+ years of hands-on pool and spa mechanical service experience (high-end residential preferred).
- Technical: strong working knowledge of pumps, heaters, filtration, plumbing, salt systems, and pool automation platforms.
- Leadership: proven ability to lead a crew, organize a day's route, and hold a job to a high standard.
- Physical & licensing: valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Preferred: CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification and familiarity with ServiceTitan are a plus.
