American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Level 1 trauma and orthopedic experience for a travel OR position at a major academic medical center in Portland, ME.

Hospital-based Operating Room at a Level 1 Trauma Center with 40+ ORs and multiple surgical specialties
-
1:1 patient ratio in a 26-bed OR unit
-
Day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
-
Weekend rotation of 1:4 on 12-hour shifts
-
Call requirements include one overnight trauma call (11:00 PM–7:00 AM); specialty team members (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho) follow specialty-specific call schedules

Preferred specialties include General, GU/GYN, Ortho trauma and joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular

Equipment includes Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive robotic systems

EMR: Epic

13-week contract

CST certification required; license required if applicable

Minimum 2 years of CST experience

Level 1 trauma center experience required

Proficiency scrubbing complex total joint revisions, robotic-assisted surgery, and orthopedic polytraumas required

Ability to independently navigate multiple surgical vendors required

Driver's License required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Teal scrubs are issued by the facility

Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate
-
Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
-
Candidates may be subject to a 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed
-
Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited

Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
