YT Quality is seeking an experienced High-End Jeweler Polish & Repair with key responsibilities:
- Perform all stages of polishing and finishing on high-end jewelry, including buffing, lapping, thrumming, satin finishing, hand polishing, and sandblasting.
- Apply various polishing compounds and techniques to achieve desired finishes (high polish, matte, brushed, etc.) while preserving intricate details and gemstone settings.
- Clean and prepare pieces using ultrasonic cleaners, steamers, and other specialized equipment.
- Inspect jewelry for defects, scratches, or imperfections before and after polishing; ensure pieces meet brand quality standards.
- Handle repairs and refurbishments for client-owned and pre-owned luxury items with the utmost care and sensitivity to gemstones.
- Collaborate with bench jewelers, setters, and designers to match original finishes and specifications.
- Maintain and organize polishing tools, wheels, compounds, and workshop equipment.
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining high volume and superior quality.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years as a professional high-end jewelry polisher, preferably work experience in a prominent high-end luxury jewelry company
- Proven expertise in polishing platinum, gold, silver, and working around delicate gemstones.
- Strong knowledge of jewelry materials, gemstone sensitivity, and various metal finishes.
- Proficiency with polishing tools and equipment (buffing wheels, laps, hand tools, etc.) and work under microscope (Leica, Amscope, et al) while polishing.
- Formal jewelry training, apprenticeship, or bench certification preferred.
- Ability to pass a practical polishing bench test.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced workshop.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to do detail pre-polishing & full finish high fine polishing mostly necklaces, bracelets, rings and pendants.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM processes or basic jewelry repair (soldering, sizing, etc.) is a plus.
- Portfolio of previous work or references from luxury jewelers.
