The purpose of this position is to choose orders in lumber track to be loaded onto trucks. Once trucks are loaded a Bill of Lading must be printed to verify accuracy.
Key Activities:
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license
- Must complete the daily checklist on equipment according to the Mobile Equipment Procedure
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift to load lumber on trucks and/or rail cars
- Must be knowledgeable in Lumber Track
- Check Lumber Track daily for paper wrap orders
- Check Lumber Track daily for rail car orders that are ready for shipment
- Check order file to determine if the necessary inventory is available to complete orders. Choose orders and notify transportation to send a truck or contact sales department if it is a customer pick up load.
- Coordinate rail car orders with reload facility and our transportation department to make sure cards are available to send shipment
- Ability to diagram a rail car to make sure it is loaded properly
- Must be able to break the order down into truck loads
- Verify order numbers and customer pick up numbers when drivers check-in
- Enter the truck line, truck number, and ship date into Lumber Track and save
- Print the pick list out of Lumber Track for the shipping clerk to scan and load
- Perform general housekeeping duties as needed
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Forklift license required
- Ability to get along well with others
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to make decisions quickly
