Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Distribution Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate distribution of products within our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management. Your expertise in utilizing various warehouse management systems and equipment will contribute to maintaining our high standards of service.

Responsibilities
- Maintain expertise in Ceres, State system, and inventory software programs related to receiving, item and donor card maintenance, distribution, and inventory control.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Unload delivery trucks and compare received product to packing lists to ensure deliveries are complete.
- Real time receipting, tagging, and documentation of all food bank and public warehousing product, including all donations, purchase product, government, leased storage and other program product.
- Accurate creation and management of item cards.
- Assist in inventory variance reconciliation.
- Pull orders; pack, wrap, label, and ship product; load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or product.
- Receive goods; sort incoming donations into appropriate categories according to established standards and procedures.
- Verify incoming and outgoing stock for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct. Compare shipment and/or received contents to records.
- Work efficiently to facilitate the identification, quick retrieval, and dispatch of product (i.e., minimize waste).
- Abide by inventory control procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete records.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment in a safe and prudent manner (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, dock levelers, hand trucks, etc.).
- Adhere to all safety and security guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Remove shrink wrap and tape from dock pallets, wipe cases and make presentable, and recommend the removal or transfer of product that is not picked up.
- Follows all AIB, FA, OSHA, and other Federal, State, and Local requirements.
- Keep the facility and grounds clean (e.g., yard maintenance, sweeping, pressure washing, etc.).
- Provide quality customer service; develop and maintain rapport with donors, agencies, volunteers, and other business partners to foster continued support and professional working relationships.
- Participate in meetings and committees as appropriate.
- Comply with all SHFB policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional, positive, and courteous manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet company needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment with a focus on distribution operations.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes and order fulfillment procedures.
- Strong understanding of basic math skills for inventory management and order processing.
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Experience with RF scanners for inventory tracking is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of packaging standards and practices for various products.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining productivity. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
