Join our dynamic team as an HVAC Install Helper/Apprentice and kick-start your career in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry! In this energetic role, you will assist our experienced lead technician with installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of mechanical systems. Responsibilities
- Assist lead technician with the installation of HVAC systems and service support.
- Carry and setup equipment/materials.
- Jobsite prep and cleanup.
- Run parts and supplies.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning components, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting mechanical systems for proper operation.
- Use tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment to assist in troubleshooting electrical issues or mechanical repairs.
- Learn to read technical drawings and schematics to better understand system layouts and troubleshooting procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration handling.
- Learn HVAC systems, safety, and procedures.
Requirements
- Prior construction experience or service technician background or HVAC schooling is preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential!
- Basic mechanical knowledge or familiarity with most tools for plumbing, electrical diagnostics, or refrigeration systems is a plus.
- Strong interest in developing skills related to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments—standing, lifting heavy 50+ lbs equipment, and working in heat, heights, attics, and crawlspaces.
- Commitment to safety standards including EPA certification requirements for refrigerant handling when applicable.
- Must wear company-approved uniform or work attire, maintain a courteous, respectful, and professional demeanor while working in clients' homes and on job sites.
