The Development & Donor Relations Manager plays a key role in advancing the agency’s mission by building strong relationships with donors, cultivating community partnerships, and strengthening philanthropic support for our programs.
This position leads individual giving and major donor development efforts while supporting grant development, communications, and community engagement activities. The Development & Donor Relations Manager works closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop sustainable fundraising strategies that support Family Solutions’ programs serving youth with emotional and behavioral health needs.

- Develop and implement strategies to increase individual giving and major donor support for Family Solutions programs.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors.
- Build and manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects.
- Coordinate donor meetings, appreciation activities, and stewardship events.
- Maintain accurate donor records and engagement history in the donor database.
- Prepare donor updates, impact reports, and personalized communications that highlight program outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan.
- Support the development of recurring giving programs and donor retention strategies.
- Track fundraising progress and provide regular updates on development activities and revenue goals.
- Assist with donor campaigns, annual appeals, and special fundraising initiatives.
- Assist in identifying grant opportunities aligned with Family Solutions’ mission and programs.
- Support grant proposal development by collaborating with program leadership to gather program outcomes, data, and narratives.
- Assist with grant reporting and stewardship to ensure strong relationships with funders.
- Work collaboratively with leadership to develop donor-focused messaging and storytelling that reflects the impact of Family Solutions’ services.
- Assist in the development of newsletters, impact stories, and donor communications.
- Support outreach efforts and social media strategies that elevate awareness of Family Solutions’ mission and programs.
- Help ensure consistent messaging across communications and fundraising materials.
- Represent Family Solutions at community events, networking opportunities, and partner meetings.
- Develop relationships with local businesses, foundations, and community partners.
- Strengthen community awareness and support for Family Solutions’ services for children and families.
3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations
- Demonstrated success cultivating individual donors or major gifts
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written communication skills for donor communications and storytelling
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Commitment to supporting the mission of Family Solutions and improving access to behavioral health services for youth and families
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Experience fundraising for behavioral health, healthcare, or social service organizations
- Grant writing or grant management experience
- Marketing, communications, or community engagement experience within a nonprofit organization
