Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled OTR Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various types of trucks, including dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers. This role involves transporting freight across the country safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. A strong commitment to safety and customer service is essential.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks to transport freight to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to commercial driving.
- Operate manual transmission vehicles as required by specific routes or loads.
- Utilize forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading materials.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles proficiently.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) as required during loading/unloading processes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if necessary.
- TWIC card is a plus
