We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ASHP Residency trained Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to serve as the LEAD of our Oncology Cancer Center.

EMPLOYER is an Academic Affiliated PREMIER HEALTHCARE CENTER conducting research, medical education, approved for grants, has GME Residents, and Joint Faculty with a University Medical Center. It is a Not-for-Profit, Teaching Hospital and Trauma Center.

COMPENSATION:
- Base Salary Range $80-$115 per hour
- The position offers a very lucrative package, including a $10,000 sign-on bonus, $7,500 relocation assistance, and up to $20,000 in student loan repayment.
- Plus, we are an Eligible Employer for Public Loan Forgiveness
- Onsite Interview Costs are paid (car, flight, hotel)

YOUR IMPACT:
As the LEAD Oncology Pharmacist, you’ll serve as the clinical and operational backbone of the Outpatient Cancer Center:
- Oversee oncology IV compounding operations
- Ensure full compliance with USP <797> & <800> standards and regulatory requirements
- Provide informal leadership and guidance to oncology pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
- Partner with the Clinic Director and Clinic Manager to streamline workflows and elevate care delivery
- High visibility role

TEAM & STRUCTURE:
- This position reports directly to the Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy
- Works alongside: Oncology Pharmacists
- This position does not have direct reports—but strong leadership presence and influence are essential
CLINIC VOLUME:
- Monday–Thursday:
- 80–85 compounded preparations/day
- 30–45 patients/day
- Friday (lighter day):
- ~40 compounds/day
- 15–20 patients/day
REQUIREMENTS:
- PharmD
- PGY1 Required - Required
- PGY2 Oncology - Preferred - Experience may substitute for PGY2
- BCOP - Not required - preferred for plans to obtain in future
- Experienced in oncology pharmacy, ideally within an infusion or clinic setting
- A self-starter who thrives with autonomy and ownership
- Strong communicator who can lead without direct authority
- Detail-oriented with a passion for compliance, safety, and process improvement
- Energized by both clinical work and operational leadership
MORE INFO ABOUT THE PHARMACY DEPARTMENT
- Over 50 clinical pharmacists with 80% Residency trained and board certified.
- Average daily census runs around 410 on average
- Integrated decentralized pharmacy model
- Pharmacists practice on nursing units participating in order verification, provision of drug information and clinical pharmacy services.
- Clinical pharmacy services include patient care rounding on select floors, pharmacokinetic consults, anticoagulation management, automatic intravenous to oral switches, automatic renal dose adjustments and automatic therapeutic interchanges.
- Specialty pharmacy services include Infectious Disease, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Oncology, Pediatrics, Anemia Management, Pain Management and Anticoagulation.
- Assigned to decentralized satellite and central operations supporting medication related distributive and clinical functions along with oversight of tasks performed by pharmacy technicians.
- Participates in the care of and reviews/verifies medication orders for patients in this setting including ICUs and stepdown ICUs
- Organizes initial treatment and monitoring plans for targeted medications by protocol including pharmacokinetic consults, warfarin consults and automatic renal dose adjustments
- Participates in emergency responses (e.g. Code Blue, Rapid Response) for assigned units
- Documents clinical interventions to measure the clinical & economic effectiveness of clinical pharmacy services
- Collaborates with nursing and medical staff to clarify pharmacotherapy orders or address pharmacotherapy related questions or concerns
- Opportunity to contribute to related patient care projects, policy & procedure development, order sets, formulary reviews and institutional committees
