We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the daily maintenance operations of a multifamily residential property. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC systems and take pride in keeping apartments and common areas safe, functional, and move-in ready.
This role involves responding to resident work orders, performing repairs, completing unit turns between residents, and maintaining the overall appearance and condition of the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance work orders for occupied apartment units in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare vacant units for new move-ins, including repairs, inspections, and basic turn work
- Perform plumbing repairs (leaks, clogs, fixtures, toilets, sinks, etc.)
- Perform basic electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, breakers, etc.)
- Perform basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
- Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
- Address exterior maintenance issues (doors, siding, lighting, minor repairs, etc.)
- Maintain property grounds, including trash pickup and general cleanliness
- Identify maintenance issues proactively and report larger repair needs
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Other maintenance-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role (multifamily preferred)
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs efficiently
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Basic hand and power tool proficiency
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC certification or formal training
- Prior experience with apartment unit turns
- Experience using maintenance/work order software
