Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection prevention management policies.
- Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including X-ray imaging, oral surgery, and endodontic treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray equipment while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records accurately using patient management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all medical documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care.
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures aligned with infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
- Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient management, and answering patient inquiries professionally.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote ongoing dental health.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by adhering to infection prevention protocols and dental equipment maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate seamlessly within a four-handed dentistry team to optimize workflow efficiency and patient outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical role within a busy dental clinic environment.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records efficiently.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.
- Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools confidently.
- Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control policies to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Excellent communication skills suitable for working with diverse patient populations including pediatric patients; previous experience supporting pediatric dentistry is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
