Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced **Irrigation Technician** to join our growing team at Trail Cutter Services. In this role, you will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. We also welcome candidates with landscape lighting experience, as the position includes opportunities to work on integrated landscape lighting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair irrigation systems, including controllers, valves, sprinklers, drip lines, and backflow preventers.
- Perform routine maintenance, system audits, and winterizations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation and drainage issues efficiently.
- Conduct water audits and recommend water-efficient solutions for clients.
- Assist with landscape lighting installations, repairs, and maintenance (preferred but not required).
- Work collaboratively with our mowing, landscaping, and snow removal crews on integrated exterior maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and client communications.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment professionally.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with irrigation system installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation components, controllers (including smart systems), and water management best practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and irrigation plans.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift up to 50+ lbs, and operate hand/power tools.
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Current **plumbing license** (strongly preferred – additional compensation considered).
- Experience with landscape lighting systems (FXL LED, Luxor controllers, or similar).
- Pesticide applicator certification or willingness to obtain.
- Previous landscaping or outdoor maintenance experience.
