We’re looking for a Director of Graphic Design who brings clarity, direction, and momentum to our growing creative organization. This role leads multiple design managers and team leads, guiding a 30-person graphic design team that shapes the visual expression of our brands. The Director ensures our design practice consistently produces excellent experiences, recognizable brands, and forward-thinking creative work that advances business goals
The right person balances creative vision with operational structure. They know how to lead design leaders, build scalable systems, and partner cross-functionally to make design a strategic advantage for the business.
Creative / Practice (20%)

Define and uphold the creative vision, standards, and methodology for the design organization

Champion design quality and consistency across all touchpoints

Ensure design work reflects a clear understanding of brand, customer, and business context

Provide strategic creative direction and constructive feedback to managers and leads
People (25%)

Lead and mentor design managers and leads, supporting their growth as both creative and people leaders

Foster a culture that values collaboration, curiosity, and craft

Partner with senior leadership on hiring, performance, and development plans

Maintain strong team health through clear expectations, communication, and accountability
Business (30%)

Align design priorities with core initiatives and marketing strategies

Partner with cross-functional leaders to plan, scope, and resource

Advocate for design as a driver of measurable business value and brand equity

Translate business needs into clear creative direction and frameworks for execution
Operations (25%)

Build and maintain processes that support efficiency, transparency, and high output

Oversee staffing and capacity planning across teams

Ensure smooth coordination and communication between design, content, marketing, and production teams

Continuously refine how work moves from intake to delivery to improve quality, efficiency and team experience

Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.

Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.

Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.

Access to a home router and modem.

A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).

The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.

15+ years of experience leading large creative teams (20+ designers) through managers and leads

Strong track record of elevating design quality and aligning creative work with business goals

Expertise in brand systems, campaign design, and cross-channel creative execution

Experience managing creative operations, workflows, and design systems at scale

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma; experience in motion or digital design a plus
