Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our finance team and oversee all aspects of accounting operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain monthly consolidated P&L statements and other financial reports across the hotel portfolio, ensuring accuracy and consistency of property-level reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and payment processing, including reviewing invoices, coordinating approvals, scheduling payments, and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation.
- Maintain and regularly update CapEx tracking by property, including approved budgets, contracts, invoices, payments, commitments, and remaining project balances.
- Manage and track loan payments and other debt-related obligations, ensuring timely payment of principal, interest, and other required amounts.
- Review monthly financial statements and operating reports provided by hotel management companies and reconcile property-level results to ownership records.
- Perform account and bank reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger and financial records at the ownership/portfolio level.
- Support monthly and year-end close processes and coordinate with hotel management companies to resolve accounting discrepancies and reporting issues.
- Assist with cash flow management, including monitoring property cash balances, upcoming obligations, capital expenditures, and funding requirements.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, with an understanding of key hotel operating metrics and departmental performance.
- Analyze hotel financial performance, including rooms, F&B, labor, departmental expenses, GOP/EBITDA, and other key hospitality operating metrics.
- Coordinate with hotel management companies, lenders, auditors, tax advisors, insurance providers, and other external parties on financial and accounting matters.
- Assist with lender reporting, loan compliance, audits, tax filings, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation for payments, CapEx projects, loans, and other ownership-level transactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with hotels, hospitality companies, hotel ownership groups, or hotel management companies.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and hotel financial statements, including departmental P&Ls, rooms and F&B operations, labor costs, GOP, EBITDA, and other key operating metrics.
- Experience with multi-property or consolidated financial reporting strongly preferred. 5. Experience with accounts payable, cash management, CapEx accounting/tracking, and debt service.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Experience reviewing budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variances.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, payments, and reporting requirements simultaneously.
