HIRS Sausage Market is looking for an experienced Deli Assistant / Deli Counter Associate to join our team immediately.
This is primarily a front-counter customer service position. We are looking for someone who already has deli experience and is comfortable operating a commercial meat slicer.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional customer service
- Take customer orders and assist customers with product selection
- Slice meats and cheeses using a commercial meat slicer
- Weigh, package, and label deli products
- Operate the cash register/POS system and process payments
- Restock and maintain an organized, attractive deli counter
- Keep the counter and customer area clean and sanitary
- Follow proper food-handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist with other shop duties as needed
Requirements
- Previous deli experience required
- Must have experience using a commercial meat slicer
- Experience slicing meats and cheeses
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Friendly, dependable, and punctual
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Food-service or butcher-shop experience preferred

Wednesday – Saturday
Optional Tuesday
