The Registered Behavior Technician or Behavior Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the clinic. The RBT or BT will collect data on programs, assist with parent training and assist the Behavior Analysts with clinical assessments, as needed. The Behavioral Technician will be responsible for implementing the duties of the behavior therapists and group play teachers in the temporary absence of these team members.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes & maintains therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity and building the value for the client of social interaction with the BT
- Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills
- Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding
- Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforces (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations)
- Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval based recording
- Follows the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation
- Collaborates with family and treatment team members to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment
- Educate parents on reinforcement and early intervention information
- Educates all those involved about the role of ABA based interventions and the BT, and functions within boundaries of the BT role in providing treatment

Behavior Technician Recommendations
- RBT Certificate, Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a behavioral health or related field.
- Relevant experience preferred.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry patients.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- May need to work shifts.
