Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Based Counselor specializing in the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency to join our team. In this role, you will work directly within school environments, as well as with the Passaic Station House Adjustment Program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focused on prevention of juvenile delinquency, behavioral management, and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, school staff, and community partners.
- Work in conjunction with the Passaic Station House Adjustment Program.
- Facilitate conflict management and behavior management strategies within the school setting to promote positive behavioral change.
- Participate in crisis intervention when necessary, providing immediate support during mental health emergencies or behavioral crises involving students with diverse needs including autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities.
- Complete necessary paperwork to fullfil grant requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field with relevant clinical training.
- Bilingual (English / Spanish)
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in school-based settings or community programs.
- Excellent communication skills for working with families, school personnel, and community stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
