We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Licensing Office Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a Vehicle and Vessel Licensing Office in North Bend, Washington. The successful candidate will oversee staff, manage customer service operations, ensure compliance with Washington State Department of Licensing requirements, maintain financial controls, and deliver exceptional public service. The office is expected to process thousands of licensing transactions annually and serve as an important resource for the local community.
Position Summary
The Licensing Office Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing daily office operations
- Supervising and training employees
- Ensuring accurate processing of vehicle and vessel licensing transactions
- Maintaining cash handling and financial controls
- Managing inventory of licensing materials
- Overseeing customer service and community relations
- Ensuring compliance with state and county requirements
- Maintaining office security and operational standards
- Building a positive workplace culture focused on accountability and service
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations
- Manage all aspects of office operations.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff.
- Create employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Monitor office performance and customer service metrics.
Customer Service
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and disputes.
- Foster a welcoming and efficient service environment.
Financial Management
- Oversee daily cash reconciliation and banking activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal controls.
- Monitor budgets, operating expenses, and financial performance.
Compliance & Licensing
- Ensure adherence to Department of Licensing, county, and state requirements.
- Maintain inventory security and accountability.
- Prepare for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Facility & Security Management
- Maintain safe, secure, and ADA-accessible office operations.
- Oversee office equipment, telecommunications, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure physical security of inventory, cash, and confidential records.
Preferred QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience.
- Experience managing employees and daily operations.
- Strong financial, bookkeeping, or accounting experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred
- Small business ownership or management experience.
- Banking, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping background.
- Vehicle/vessel licensing or title processing experience.
- Retail operations management experience.
- Experience handling confidential records and cash controls.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and business software applications.

- Minimum required hours: 40
- Monday–Friday
- 8:30AM – 5:00PM
