Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Operations Lead to oversee and support critical functions across Safety, Quality, Credentialing, Accreditation, Licensure and Operations departments in a Surgical Pathology Laboratory. This role also includes oversight of courier vendors and provides cross-functional support to ensure efficiency, compliance, and high-quality service delivery across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and provide coverage for Safety, Credentialing, Licensing, Quality, Accreditation and Operations departments during staff absences.
- Manage courier operations, including routes, turn around time, driver documentation, invoices and badging.
- Partner with the Director to identify and implement process improvements.
- Develop, revise, and maintain policies, procedures, and job aids.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CAP, CLIA, CDPH, fire and safety regulations).
- Coordinate inspection readiness, including preparation, surveys, responses, and file maintenance.
- Participate in and lead QA/QI, Accreditation and Safety Committee meetings as needed.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Plan and execute company events (Lab Week, etc.) and internal communications initiatives.
- Maintain communication boards and manage the company newsletter.
- Perform administrative duties such as typing, scanning, filing, and research.
- Travel to multiple locations as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of staff within Safety, Credentialing, Quality, and Accreditation departments.
- Oversight of courier vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in an administrative office and/or laboratory setting required.
- Strong understanding of laboratory accreditation and regulatory requirements is a plus.
