Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that meet their needs.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor through effective merchandising and stocking practices.
- Conduct product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits to customers.
- Utilize upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and increase overall sales.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, products, and services offered in the store.
- Assist in training new staff members by sharing best practices in customer service and sales techniques.
- Uphold phone etiquette when answering calls from customers or vendors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred, particularly within a grocery store environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
- Supervising experience is a plus to help guide junior staff members.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales reporting.
- Basic math skills required for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
