About the Position
We are hiring a CNC Operator to set up and run our CNC router in a busy custom cabinet and woodworking shop. You will produce precision-cut components for residential and commercial cabinetry projects, working with high-quality panel materials in a hands-on production environment.
What You Will Do
- Set up and operate the CNC router, including program loading, tool changes, and zero-point calibration
- Cut, drill, and profile cabinet components from plywood, MDF, melamine, and other panel materials
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Monitor machine performance and make minor offset or feed rate adjustments during production runs
- Maintain production logs for completed parts, scrap, and downtime
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift machine inspections, routine cleaning, and basic maintenance
- Stage cut components for downstream production and communicate material or tooling needs to the supervisor
- Follow all shop safety protocols, including PPE, machine guarding, and housekeeping standards
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of CNC machine operation experience in a manufacturing, woodworking, or cabinet shop
- Familiarity with CNC router components: spindle, tooling, vacuum hold-down, and control panel
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and CNC program files
- Basic understanding of CNC programming; ability to load programs and make minor adjustments
- Knowledge of wood-based panel materials and their machining characteristics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work at a pace in a production environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training is a plus
