Duties
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere focused on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Oversee the operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Implement process improvements using lean management principles to enhance workflow, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems like AS400 or RF scanners to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Coordinate logistics activities related to 3PL providers and distribution center operations to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including OSHA standards, while conducting regular safety audits and training sessions for staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or warehouse management roles with a strong background in warehouse operations.
- Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and logistics processes.
- Ability to operate or oversee the operation of forklifts and other heavy lifting equipment safely.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and communicating effectively at all managerial levels.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment operation, shipping & receiving procedures, and e-commerce distribution workflows.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices for workplace safety in warehousing environments.
