To be a successful Relative Support Worker you must become able to do the following always:
- Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for families served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect and a focus on resilience and recovery.

Provide support for, advocacy for and supervision of non-licensed relative and Non-Related Kin (NRKIN) homes.

Serve as a liaison between the family and community when organizing and accessing community services and information for kinship families according to their unique needs.

Maintain timely documentation in company electronic health record according to Kinship expectations. Complete required assessments and plans required for the home.

Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

Back up on-call to the on-call department.

To qualify for this job, you need to have:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in social worker or related field preferred.

Licensure by the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board preferred.

Two years of prior experience in child welfare.

21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.

Maintain company-required training.

Ability to travel, driving agency or personal vehicle including at night. Ability to do the occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Able to walk upstairs. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
