Site Lead
30 hours per week
12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Camp Fire Heartland is a youth development organization that provides programs for young people including Before/Afterschool programs, clubs, and summer day camp. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Education or Childhood Development
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to engage with students, parents, and team members
- Commitment to real-world learning
- Belief that all students can learn at high levels
- Experience working with a diverse population of students
- Leadership skills and at least 2 years of experience managing staff
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Out-Of-School Program at assigned site, including staffing, enrollment, attendance, group assignments, quality, safety, compliance, and activity planning.
- Ensure all child care licensing requirements are met.
- Help implement the development of academic and social/emotional learning lessons and programming.
- Manage a program with 120 children.
- Manage a staff of 10-15 people.
- Maintain strong communication with partner organizations.
- Keep staff informed of program policies and performance expectations through communication means such as staff meetings, individual supervisory meetings, and written documents.
- Use national Camp Fire data evaluation tools to measure and track program impact (outputs and outcomes) on participants, families, volunteers, and partner organizations.
- Ensure all required reports are submitted accurately and within the required time frame.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion.
- Ensure there are 2 staff with children at all times.
- Ensure staff is punctual and attentive.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and through writing/email
- Technology-efficient; Experienced with social media and Microsoft suite applications and/or able to learn new technologies quickly
- Collaborates well with others, is personable, and a team player
- Commitment to diversity
- Completes required tasks efficiently and timely
- Pass extensive background check
