South Lyon First United Methodist Church seeks an energetic and inspiring Music Ministries Leader to coordinate and prepare worship music for services and events. The Music Ministries Leader is the principal accompanist for worship services, funerals, and other events. Two Sunday morning services have a blend of both traditional and contemporary music.
The position requires:
--proficient worship music knowledge (traditional hymns, contemporary music, and choral music) and choral conducting ability. Piano skill required, organ proficiency desired
--proficient skill in coordinating, delegating, or playing weekly worship music and leading ensemble groups
--coordination and partnership with the Band Leader on music planning for worship services
--recruiting, coordinating, training, leading, and encouraging volunteer musicians and fostering their spiritual growth
--proficiency in communicating with the Lead Pastor, Band Leader, volunteer musicians, and church staff
--an interest in growing the children’s and youth music ministry
Minimum five years of music leadership experience is preferred.
